North East Sussex

About Us

The North-East Sussex Branch covers the area of Burwash, Crowborough, Heathfield, Horam, Maresfield, Uckfield and Wadhurst.

As a CAMRA branch, we actively promote good quality real ale in our local pubs. Of which, we have some very good ones! We do this through a variety of mechanisms, including our branch pub guide, branch socials, submissions to the national CAMRA Good Beer Guide, and our annual Pub of the Year Awards.

The rural nature of the NESx branch means that our 70-plus pubs are dispersed across a wide area. And the branch originally evolved out of the South East Sussex branch and some pubs transferred from North Sussex, West Kent and Brighton and South Downs branches to reflect the characteristics of our local geography and the somewhat patchy transport links.

If you’re a CAMRA member and live in this area, please come and join us at one of our branch socials, which take place across the district. And if you’re a visitor to North-East Sussex, CAMRA member or not, we hope you enjoy this part of the world and find this website useful.
